Hi, my name is Nina!
And Cozynel is my little corner of the internet.
I’m the voice, author, and creator behind Cozynel. What started as a very personal need to bring more calm, order, and warmth into my own home slowly turned into something I felt called to share with others.
I didn’t come from an interior design background, and I’ve never believed that a beautiful home has to follow strict rules or expensive trends. Like many people, I was simply trying to figure out how to make my living space feel more comfortable, functional, and put together — without turning everyday life into an overwhelming renovation project.
I live in Oakland, California, where homes come in all shapes, sizes, and stories. Being surrounded by older houses, creative neighborhoods, and a mix of lifestyles taught me early on that good design isn’t about perfection. It’s about how a space supports you — how it feels when you wake up, wind down, cook a meal, or finally sit still at the end of the day.
Some of my favorite simple moments happen at home: quiet mornings with natural light coming through the windows, reorganizing a drawer just enough to make life easier, or noticing how a small change on the wall or in a bedroom can completely shift the mood of a space.
I Love Thoughtful, Lived-In Homes
At Cozynel, I focus on home ideas that feel realistic for real homes and real routines. If something feels overly complicated, impractical, or disconnected from everyday living, it’s probably not something I’ll spend much time on here.
My goal is to explore home ideas that feel approachable, useful, and adaptable, whether you live in a small apartment, a family home, or somewhere in between.
On Cozynel, you’ll find inspiration across a few core areas:
- Home Storage ideas that help you organize without stripping away personality
- Wall Style inspiration to bring warmth, balance, and character to blank spaces
- Bedroom Ideas focused on comfort, rest, and calm — not perfection
- Kitchen Ideas that blend function and beauty for everyday cooking and gathering
I want these ideas to feel inspiring without being overwhelming, and helpful whether you’re making a small update or slowly improving your home over time.
Every Home Tells a Different Story
One of the things I genuinely love most is seeing how people interpret ideas in their own way. The same storage solution, wall layout, or bedroom setup can feel completely different from one home to another — and that’s what makes interior spaces interesting.
Homes aren’t meant to look like catalogs. They’re meant to support real life.
Going Deeper
Beyond home ideas and inspiration, Cozynel is shaped by everyday life inside real homes — not just how rooms look in styled photos. I spend a lot of time observing how people actually live in their spaces, how they move through rooms, store everyday items, and interact with their homes over time. Those quiet, ordinary moments often influence what I share more than trends ever could.
Simple Routines: I enjoy reading, saving inspiration, and making small changes over time. I believe homes don’t need to be finished all at once. They evolve gradually alongside the people living in them.
Daily Life: I enjoy slow mornings and calm evenings at home, when the space feels quieter and more honest. Those moments often reveal what feels comfortable, functional, or unnecessarily complicated.
Everyday Observation: Noticing how people use storage, walls, bedrooms, and kitchens in real life — not perfectly styled ones — has taught me a lot about what feels natural and what doesn’t last.
